The Sprout class is a great introduction to the WCNS community.

During this time in the classroom, the children will explore developmentally appropriate activities to promote parallel play as well as moving towards cooperative play with peers.

The children take part in a short circle time and enjoy snack together.

They explore our amazing playground or our gross motor room to work on those new found skills.
Butterflies

The Butterfly class is a warm welcome to the preschool years.

With the support of your child’s teachers, he/she will learn to separate from parents or caregivers and transition into the classroom.

Over the course of the school year, their social skills will grow through play with peers and their interactions with teachers.

They will learn self help skills that will be the building blocks for the future school years.

In keeping with our play based philosophy, there is an abundance of free play happening in the classroom and on the playground.
Bumblebees

The Bumblebee class is a wonderful extension of the Butterflies.

Building on the skills they learned in the Butterfly class, the Bumblebees will take part in cooperative play and nurture their sense of community.

The children will continue to fine tune their independent skills as well as their self help skills.

Language skills will continue to be enhanced through a literacy rich environment and interactions with peers and adults.
Bluejays/Cardinals

The Bluejay and Cardinal Classrooms are for our children who plan to attend Kindergarten the next fall.

In keeping with our play based philosophy, the curriculum will continue to build and promote independence as well as working cooperatively.

During the year, the children will have more responsibility in the classroom to help promote the self help skills that will be needed for Kindergarten.

Early literacy and language skills will continue to be enriched with our abundant classroom libraries and by creating class books, the number of the day, journals and daily sign ins.

Lunch Bunch is offered for children in the Butterflies class on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays as well as the Bumblebees class on Tuesdays, Thursdays & Fridays.

Lunch Bunch is also offered to the Cardinals and Bluejays classes for two or four days/week.

You must be enrolled in the morning class to add Lunch Bunch.

Summers at WCNS is an early summer program for children currently enrolled at WCNS.

We offer multiple week sessions that begin the week after the last day of school.

The spacious outdoor play areas become the summer classroom for children.

Indoor classrooms are utilized for art and assorted indoor activities.

Weather permitting, a variety of water play adventures is scheduled every day!
